The fact that you are reading this should be sufficient proof that you are under a lot of stress and guilt right now, yes you are a horrible human being and you deserve to be transported to a underworld realm where no besties exist and you are left to ponder upon and drown in remorse in loneliness. Nah. Not really. We are human after all. It happens. We can find a way to remedy that. There is no need to feel bad anymore. We just need a perfect plan.

Now, your accumulated intel over time about your pal is your book of wisdom here. You need to know what they like. Is there something that they are in need of right now but they don’t have sufficient funds to buy? Something they have been keeping their eye on but never got around to acquire. This need not be something necessarily expensive. It is the thought and effort that counts. Here are a few suggestion to make things easier for you.

If your friend is a movie fiend…

Try movie posters. Printed mugs personalized with their name is also a great idea. And you can also buy novelty t shirt designs. Custom made t-shirts are also a wonderful idea because hey who would not love to rock a designer piece. Actions figured, key tags and any kind of memorabilia will be a good gift idea along with a sweet card.

If your friend is a die-hard-foodie…

If he or she is the kind of person who would rather eat than argue about your forgetful nature, then plunge and take the chance. Get them to a surprise meal at their favorite spot and call that place and ask in advance to arrange something a little special for your buddy, like a little cupcake or a cake or even a little surprise treat. You can also try getting them a funny food poster or buy  fresh funny geek t-shirts or a saucy hand bag or a pouch that contains a good does of catchy food sarcasm.

If your pal is a starry-eyed romantic…

Your options are endless. If this is the true nature of your friend well you’ll have to work a bit harder to get their hard mended but there actually is a lot that you can do. Get them out camping in the back yard with a little bonfire, throw a sleepover at yours with hot cocoa and a movie marathon, take them to the museum or on a road trip. Make them a beautiful DIY card and put a note saying how much you value them.
